Oak hollow body
This guitar is specially designed to look as cool as an electric, but play like an acoustic. There are no electronics, no pickups. It has been carefully crafted and set-up to play in tune and stay in tune. (Why buy a cheap guitar if you can't tune it, and the action makes it hard to play?)
The body is solid oak and completely hollowed-out. It has a clear, bright tone. But it is a relatively small body size, so the volume and tone are less than typical acoustic guitars. But the action is awesome!
Many young beginners want to learn on an electric guitar, which means you also need an amp. But oftentimes, an inexpensive electric guitar and an inexpensive amp are not very satisfying. The beginner can get discouraged because it is too hard to play or just doesn't sound good enough.
Experienced players can appreciate a well-crafted instrument that has great action, plays in tune, and stays in tune. Plus, you can grab it and pluck or strum in an instant-- no need to go sit next to your amp, plug in, warm up, tweak the volume and tone, etc. . .
Did you notice that these guitars readily stand up? Set it against the bed, the wall, the edge of your desk, or your chair and walk away. It won't tip over or slide away.
Finally, a cool-looking guitar, that's outrageously inexpensive, that plays in tune, stays in tune, has great action and makes you want to play more! How cool is that?

An ideal beginner or practice guitar. Hollow body is constructed of Birch ply, approximate 2" overall depth.
Light gauge acoustic bronze-wound strings give ample tone and volume for working out those sudden song inspirations!

Achtung Guitars are made of basic materials like oak, cherry, maple, and Birch marine plywood. The plywood layers of the sides are left unpainted so you can see them. We didn't want to hide it; we thought it looked pretty cool.
Achtung Guitars are meant to be played, passed around the campfire, taken to the beach, leaned against the family room armchair, or parked on the back porch 'til you have the time to sit a spell. . . Simple, straight-forward and fun!
You will see new versions added as we build them. You may also see some versions disappear as we sell them. We like building unique guitars, each with its own individual sound and aesthetics. Even with the precision of CNC-machined parts, the choice of materials and finish have a dramatic impact on the overall character of the guitar. We hope you find one that inspires you.
